The night time is the right time…

September 27, 2005

You may have no doubt noticed a change in the navigation bar since your last visit (assuming, your a prior visitor). Well, it's time to announce the newest addition to murf-STUFF. The long coming, for many years now, official Nocturnal Studios website. Nocturnal Studios, now billed as the “murf-STUFF video division” is host to the various video works I've been a part of. There is more about Nocturnal Studios, its history and its deal in there somewhere. So, go! Indulge in that.

So, I've got some art backlog to attend to as usual. Remember, to add the new section and change the navigation, I have to go through EVERY page, so that's a real pain and takes a long time. This month should prove interesting to say the least. I'm taking one of my classes online, and I've only got two days per week of actual class time. So I've got a lot more time then I've had these past two months. I've got sketches for a new comic done, so after I hit my art backlog that'll be the next project for the site. At some point, I intend to churn out my first personal project for After Effects (not just something for school), so we'll see what happens there.

The last note of the day is a change of technology. I've toting around this craptastic version of FrontPage Express for quite some time now. Having built several of my previous sites by this mean, including all the past versions of murf-STUFF. Having only recently learned about better programs (first being GoLive, which they made us use in CMI), I have started to use Macromedia's Dreamweaver software to produce and maintain the site. Matter of fact, the Nocturnal Studios section is the first time an entire section has been created entirely not from FrontPage. The new redesign at ILB was done with Dreamweaver, but not much other some cosmetic changes and the navigation bar were changed. So here, the alteration of the navigation across the entire site was done with Dreamweaver… and was exceedingly faster then previous runs like that. Yet still, I can't wait to learn PHP and mySQL in the months down the line, where I'll need to change one thing and it'll change over all sites.

Other then all that… I'm still as mundane as ever. Catch y'all next time.

Now for some well-earned ramen!

September 19, 2005

Man o, man! These days are packed with things to do. Working on projects, updating the site, all sorts of fun.

So, here we are yet again, bringing you more things for you to feast your lovely little eyes on. Sorry for the delay… I've been hearty mix of busy and lazy these past few weeks. Today is pretty big here at murf-STUFF. Got updates ALL OVER this place. New stuff at murf-ART as per usual. The re-design (plus a little more [wink wink nudge nudge]) has appeard over in ILB. Also, some more links have been added. Seems like the Goodies section got ignored today, but it'll have something shortly I'm sure… I'm always puttzing around with that stuff.

So, right. I'm in month 4 of Full Sail. Seems just the other I started this whirlwind adventure, but here I am. Currently, I'm learning After Effects (my first project for that is included with it's corresponding image in murf-ART), and boy is that program neat.

So, you like this redesign going on here? Well, I should be starting my web design classes in November. So, I'm not sure if the layout will change any, but I can assure you things will take some change around here. Once I learn the marvels of Flash and PHP and all that glorious stuff, I can practically assure you things will change around here. Until the next update, rant, or whatever, I bid you all happy travels.

Troubles in the bayou

September 2, 2005

It seems as though one of the places I'd always wanted to visit, won't be the same, ever again. I'm talking of course, about New Orleans. I've been to many cities and states in the US. 28 states to be exact, and I've been to (or through) such major cities as Washington, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Kansas City, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Atlanta and of course Orlando where I currently reside. Yet of all these place, the one place I've ALWAYS wanted to go to… was in fact, New Orleans.

So as such, I'm rather down and out about New Orleans current condition, of which by now I'm sure you no doubt no about. I consider myself fairly lucky, as I was in fact part of this historic disaster. While Katrina was still Category 1/Tropical Storm, and made it's way across Florida, it caused about a whole 10 minutes of heavy rain in Winter Park while I took a final exam at school. So yes, I was in fact, in this hurricane. Additionally, after last years nasty season I'm glad that at least so far, Orlando has been unaffected by this Hurricane Season.

I don't have TV, and I get my news via the internet. But still, from what I've seen. It's horrible. Terrible, and I can't stand to watch any of it anymore. I'm doing my part to aid in the cheapest manner I can. I now walk to school. Granted this may not seem like much, but I'm not wasting gas to go a 1/2 mile to school. I'm too poor to be donating anything to the cause. So, if you can please do so yourselves. There are thousands of people whose lives are now gone. Do your part.
