"apos" upon ye!
So… I'm sure I've battered into your little murf-STUFF visiting skulls that I 100% ABHOR, DESPISE and LOATHE Internet Explorer. Recently (via the aid of Mike G.) I was shown a handy way to take a text block input through my CMS, and turn certain characters such as the ampersand (&) into their proper HTML code so my HTML would be valid, as well avoid some unsightly issues I was having with inputing stuff into the version of MySQL I have here.
Well, as I opted to look at my IE version (this is currently a pain for me to test properly), I noted how out of whack things currently look, and that my rant title was showing the literal HTML code for an apostrophe! “apos” indeed! Why does Microsoft hate me? I mean, seriously. With crap like this it's no wonder I've become a devout member of the Mac crowd! I've fixed this little sore now, but I'm still irked.
My plate is pretty full despite being jobless right now. And fixing the IE glitches in the system doesn't sound like a fun time. Seriously… it is a chore sometimes.
In other news: murf-ART's January 2006 backlog has been added! And with it, a nice little PHP system glitch. Don't fret, it's not major. The base Sketch of the Day index is not displaying the stuff it should. A few minutes work to fix. I'll get to it some time this week. Depending on how the week goes, I may just fix it when I added the Feb. backlog next week.
Also, if you haven't been following the news “ticker” lately, the forum has been purged clean, started fresh and sports a very nice style that fits right in with murf-STUFF. Sadly, I destroyed the database for it all in the process, so when I say purged, I honestly mean it. It's a brand new forum all over again. Go and re-register if you were on it before.
I think that's all there is to say for now. Until next time: never eat soggy waffles!!!
