I joined Twitter and added a few days ago. It can be located at the bottom of the sidebar. I didn't feel like taking time to stylize it when I put it up. I'll save that for a future time.

murf-ART Touchups
Posted: May. 31, 2008

It came to recent attention that my thumbnail browsing on the art display page was, in fact, not working as I had desired. I could get into the technicalities of that, but that's boring so just be content to know that is fixed, and now browses properly.

In other murf-ART news, a new category is up called "Dumpster." Dumpster entries consist of mostly failed doodles, or ones that didn't come out well. When I do an update, I'll take all this little ones and "dump" them together. I've had sketch dumps in the catalog before, and I've retroactively gone back and placed those into the Dumpster Category.

The last new item in the murf-ART upgrade is the "Help Guide" that explains the categories, types and offers some light synopses of original story ideas that crop up often.

I also intend to start loading up High Resolution version of colored art. I'm talking about the 300 dpi versions my web versions are based on. So look for this in the near-ish future. I'm also plotting a small search engine so you can browse by typing in a few words. Now that I have over 500 pieces of art in there, that could end up being a very handy feature.

Updated Art Browsing
Posted: May. 26, 2008

Hey all.

I made a quick patch up to my Art Browser. Now, when an entry has more then one source (such as when I had Hikari in Jedi garb), the sources are broken down so you can click each source name and have the Browser find all entries with that source in it.

Figured this will allow folks to find those mixed arts a bit easier to get around.

A return!
Posted: May. 18, 2008

I finally updated some the PHP that I wanted to do. So, with that, I also managed to wrestle all the art I had sitting around, scanned it in, and got it up. Now that I've mixed added the ability to automate the updates when I post new art, that takes out a step that did so greatly annoy me.

I also decided to add the thumbnails of the new art in the post, which brings in a bit of visual flare and lets you quickly see what new offerings are at hand. So that's kinda cool.

Anyways, it's not a triumphant hurrah of a return, but it's a return none-the-less.

PHP Overhaul: murf-STUFF done!
Posted: Sep. 14, 2007

I'm pleased to inform you that the murf-STUFF portion of my PHP overhaul is complete.

Now, I'm going to progress into the CMS portion of the project, so that way when I start updating new content, it'll auto post that stuff for me. Cool deal huh?

Changing Things Up
Posted: Sep. 14, 2007

Well, here's the deal. Layout wise, the front page has been moved, changed and had multiple things done to it. However, it's basic content has never really changed that drastically. Updates, rants and a welcome spiel.

No more. Figured the front page was due for complete re-hash.

The welcome spiel? Gone! Now, instead of rants, news and updates can get full write ups and what not and be displayed here on the front. Each of the three types of postings can also be viewed individually in the Archives pages.

Also, quick thumbnails and links to the most recent major art and ILB comic, so you can quickly see when those were last posted to.

The calendar is nice addition I think. If box has that deeper blue, it means I updated on that day, and clicking on that box pops open a small window to show you all the updates for that day!

Lastly, is the "Current Work" section. This shows current projects that are either being worked on or coming up soon. You can read about it and check its status.

Although it isn't implemented yet, I'll be reworking my Content Management System to auto post "Update" type posts. So when I put up new art, an auto post is made. Same with ILB. This will ensure that when I DO update, I don't forget to notify you. For now though I'll need to do it by hand.

You may notice a couple of images out of wack or some busted items in STUFF, but I'll be rounding out the rough edges on murf-STUFF proper this weekend, then proceed into the CMS. The new update system is key, and I want to make sure it all works smoothly before I post in new content to murf-ART or ILB (which I have, but not much).
